Stone arched-roof cellars were featured last Spring in the Volland store art exhibit “The Spirit of Place: Rooted in the Flint Hills.” Photographer Tom Parish led several tours of area cellars and interpreted these hidden treasures to rave reviews.
Strong interest in the tours continues, and The Volland Store is scheduling several Fall tours to provide an opportunity for others to see the cellars in person. Local guides lead the tours, offering a unique perspective, lots of stories, and a wealth of knowledge.
Tours Starts at 1:00pm – Participants will be bussed to the tour stops. You will see the cellars first hand, and hear about their unique history. We anticipate the tour to take up to 4 hours. We will have you back to your vehicle by approximately 5 pm.
Please note that the ground will be uneven. Wear good walking shoes. You are welcome to bring water and snacks for the tour; it is a long afternoon.
Please watch our Facebook page or this website for updates on scheduling, or email us to have your name added to the waitlist.
Ticket Sales benefit free community programming at The Volland Store.
