Flint Hills Books and the Volland Foundation are pleased to co-host New York Times bestselling author Candice Millard for a conversation about the research and writing of her most recent book, River of the Gods. It is an extraordinary account of two British explorers and their guide, Sidi Mubarak Bombay, a former slave who became a free man and one of the most widely traveled and accomplished guides in the exploration of Africa in the mid-nineteenth century.

Jennifer Kassebaum, owner of Flint Hills Books, will be in conversation with Ms. Millard, discussing River of the Gods. A book signing for purchased books will follow the program. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us for a stimulating Saturday afternoon!
