Informational Panel
Alma Library
Thursday, September 15, at 7 pm
Have you ever wondered how to restore an old house or old building? Have you wondered about tax credits for restoring them? Are there restrictions on what you can do with your property – or not? How much money do you receive? Is it enough to be worth it? If you can’t use tax credits yourself, can you sell them? Is it complicated? Who buys them, and for how much? It all seems mysterious, but what are the facts?
Hear about the first-hand experience that local property-owners have had with historic preservation, including tax credits, nominations to the historic register, architects.
The panel includes Dave Stuewe (buildings on Main Street), the Wabaunsee County Historical Society (Palenske Hall), Andy Badeker (the Wabaunsee County Courthouse and the Alma Hotel), and Patty Reece (The Volland Store). Others are invited to chime in on their personal preservation projects as well. Join the discussion! Come to the Alma Library on Thursday, September 15 at 7 pm.
