Dave Kendall
Acclaimed Documentary Film Producer Dave Kendall will present a preview of the “Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve: A Flint Hills Love Story.”
Kendall is producing a film to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve establishment on the Z Bar Ranch near Strong City, Chase County, Kansas. The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve sits in the middle of the Flint Hills and the 60-minute documentary will explore the history of the preserve.
“The Preserve represents a unique public/private partnership that involves a cooperative arrangement between the Nature Conservancy of Kansas and the National Park Service, which celebrates its centennial in 2016,” says Kendall.
“Reflecting upon the development of this preserve, we can think of it as a “love story” involving conflict and competition between groups seeking to protect what each consider to be of greater value, finding resolution as they worked through their differences.”
